- I had this problem for weeks. I've done 4 things since then, and my
- Amosaic appears to be stable at last. Here are the things in priority
- order, most important (I believe) first:
-
- 1. I ensured that the work dir was specified with trailing : or /
- In my case it is now HD3:work/
-
- 2. I had 6 Mb of ram free. A friend told me "Mosaic can easily fill
- 6Mb" so I gave it the disk dir to use, with 100Mb of spare space!
- I've no idea how much is actually used.
-
- 3. I told Amosaic not to load graphics until I ask for them. When I
- do, I only load 1 or 2 pics at a time (clicking on the 'icon').
-
- 4. I bought another 4 Mb of simms ram. Probably irrelevant because of
- item 2. If you're interested I now have 12Mb fast and 2Mb chip.
- My machine is an A4000/40
-
- This is probably overkill, and it may be that only two of those are
- the actual cure. No.1 is certainly essential (see the docs).
